19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hardcourt
A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since that period of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
